From My Journey

To your journey of recovery and healing.

I qualified in 2015 in a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Pretoria, following a Bachelor of Sciences in Human Physiology, Psychology and Genetics, as well as an Honours in Human Physiology. After a year of community service in Brits District Hospital, I practiced for seven years in a private out patients practice, gaining much experience and sharpening my skill set. During that time there have been countless hours of education, including courses in Dry needling, Taping and three levels of the McKenzie method. In 2019 I also completed my post graduate course in Orthopaedic and Manipulative Therapy.

I have a special interest in chronic pain, and plan on exploring this area even further over the coming years. I have, in the meantime, completed shorter courses on understanding pain, treating it, and navigating the potential physical, mental and emotional consequences it can have on our daily lives.

I am very passionate about what I do, and I really am dedicated to each and every patient. I make it my personal goal to be intentionally committed to the wellbeing of every person that walks through my doors.

What My Clients Say:

FAQ's

You are more than welcome to call, email or Whatsapp me personally. Please bear in mind that I am often treating patients, so I will respond as soon as possible. For more urgent bookings, please call and you will be attended to first.

This depends entirely on you – but here are a few helpful tips to think about:

  • Any doctors letters, X-rays, blood results or other tests you may have had done pertaining to your condition
  • If you are on chronic medication, please bring a list or snap a pic of those before you come so we can note them down
  • We do provide clean shorts and gowns for you, however, should you wish to bring your own pair of comfy shorts you are more than welcome. Please ensure that these are easy to move around in and are preferably not longer than the middle of your thigh – we do need to expose the area as much as possible to provide appropriate treatment.
  • If you have any questions about any external factors that may be contributing to your pain or injury such as shoes or the pillow you use, feel free to bring that along with you and we can try and assist you where possible.
  • Lastly, we do charge medical aid rates and are happy to submit directly to Discovery Health where applicable. However, should you not be a Discovery health member, or would prefer to pay and claim it back yourself, please bring along a means to pay.

My practice charges medical aid rates, so the fee will depend on the tariff stipulated by your medical funder. For more information on this please contact me directly.

The short answer – No. Physiotherapists are first line practitioners, which means we are able to assess you, diagnose you and treat you without a referral from your doctor. In addition, we are also able to refer you on for further investigation should it be necessary.

Your session is 45 minutes long.

Life happens and often when you least expect it so should you need to cancel, my practice  has a four hour cancellation policy. Should you not cancel at least four hours before your appointment, or miss it altogether without cancelling, a fee is charged to cover the time allocated. Should you need further information regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact me.
